Joseph C. Linnen '84, Chairman Emeritus of the La Lumiere School Board of Trustees will be the principal speaker at La Lumiere School’s 57th Commencement Ceremony on May 24, La Lumiere Head of School Andy Webster announced today.
“We are thrilled to welcome Joe Linnen back to La Lumiere School to deliver this year’s address at our Commencement Ceremony,” Webster said in a letter to the community. “We believe that Joe’s leadership and exemplary service to La Lumiere make him a fitting choice for this momentous occasion as we recognize and celebrate the Class of 2024.”
Joe served La Lumiere for 12 years, first as a member of the Board of Trustees from 1996-2000, and eventually as the Chair of the Board from 2001-2007. During his tenure, Linnen served as Co-Chair of the Courageous Vision capital campaign which extinguished the school’s long-term debt, created investment reserves, and provided numerous improvements to the campus including the Science Center and Faculty Townhomes. For many decades, he has been a pillar of the school community, demonstrating a deep and abiding commitment to the school’s success.
In his professional life, he is Partner and Co-Head of Business Development at TJC, L.P. (formerly known as The Jordan Company). Founded in 1982, TJC specializes in buying and building businesses in partnership with management. Joe has been with TJC for 31 years and the senior team has invested together for over 22 years, making up what TJC believes to be one of the most experienced and stable leadership teams in the private equity business.
Personally, Joe credits the majority of any success enjoyed by him or his two sons to his wife, Anne. Both Anne and Joe are very proud parents of Liam and Colin, rising seniors at the University of Notre Dame (Class of 2025).
Commencement will take place at 10:00 a.m. May 24 in Historic Marsch Gymnasium. All members of the La Lumiere community are invited to attend and celebrate this milestone in our graduates' lives.
