Jaime Prado Earns Purdue Calumet’s Third CCAC Defensive Player of the Week Honor

PUC-PeregrinsTwo victories last week in which the Peregrines gave up just one goal helped the Purdue University Calumet men's soccer team earn its third Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor, as junior Jaime Prado won the honor for the first time in his career.

Prado (Chicago, Ill./Washington/South Suburban) a starting center back, was a big reason behind the stellar Peregrines' defense, which included a 3-0 shutout over two-time defending CCAC champion Cardinal Stritch and a 2-1 win at rival Calumet St. Joseph.

The junior played all 180 minutes in the two matches, helping the Peregrine defense give up just 21 shots in two matches, including just seven on goal.

Prado is the third player to earn the honor this year for Purdue Calumet, joining teammates Miguel David (Spring Valley, Calif./Bonita Vista) and Sahid Navarro (Chicago, Ill./Brooks/South Suburban).

Purdue Calumet (6-5-1, 4-2-1) returns to action Saturday, Oct. 18, when the Peregrines travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, for a nonleague matchup at Cincinnati Christian.
