Ivy Tech Community College announced new Machine Tool Roundup open house date to provide comprehensive information session on current machine tool technology trade program offerings. Event date will be July 27, 2023, 5-6pm CT at the Valparaiso campus, located at 3100 Ivy Tech Drive, Valparaiso, IN.
Open House is free of charge and will feature on the spot enrollment for those interested in applying to Ivy Tech. Light snacks, and refreshments will be provided to those in attendance. Prospective students, families, community members and area businesses can learn more about current course offerings, local companies hiring Ivy Tech graduates, programs available and more. Courses offered across the Machine Tool Technology programs are designed to create tangible impact on communities throughout Northwest Indiana.
“There’s a huge need in our communities for certified machine tool technologists. The trade is booming in Northwest Indiana. This is going to be a great event for community members to learn more about our program offerings,” said Dean of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Applied Science, Jennifer Furmanek.
Ivy Tech’s Machine Tool Technology Program trains students in the use of manually operated machine tools as well as the latest in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools. Program provides students with the opportunity to learn and connect with the latest key specifics in modern manufacturing.
Today, virtually all manufactured products depend on America's precision machining industry at some point in their production. Because of this, jobs are readily available and often in high demand for professionals who have the skillset to work in machine tool technology.
