Ivy Tech Michigan City Campus Hosts Criminal Justice & Legal Studies Programs Open House

Ivy Tech Community College has announced new open house date to mark the Criminal Justice and Legal Studies program return to the Michigan City Campus. Event date is set for August 4, 2023, 12-4pm CT at the Michigan City campus, located at 3714 Franklin Street, Michigan City, IN.

Event is free of charge and will feature on the spot enrollment for those interested in applying to Ivy Tech. Light snacks, hot dogs and refreshments will be provided to those in attendance. At the event prospective students, families, community members and area businesses can learn more about current course offerings. Event will feature face painting for children and families. Limited supplies.

Courses offered across both the Criminal Justice and Legal Studies programs are designed to create tangible impact on communities throughout Northwest Indiana. The Criminal Justice Program is structured toward students seeking professions in law enforcement, corrections, probation, parole, court services, business security, forensics, cyber security, youth services, and more. Within this program, students can earn a variety of credentials, including technical certificates, program certifications, two-year work-ready degrees, and also two-year transfer degrees.

“We are incredibly excited to return these programs to our Michigan City Campus. Ivy Tech is committed to creating impact not just for students but also for our surrounding employers,” said Department Chair, Nicole Fech.

Ivy Tech’s Legal Studies Program is tailored toward students seeking professions in legal related fields, including but not limited to paralegals, legal assistants, law firm staff, court administrative staff, attorneys, in-house counsel and varying positions throughout court systems. Within the program, students can obtain a variety of credentials, including technical certificates, program certifications, two-year work-ready degrees, and also two-year transfer degrees.

“There’s a huge need in our communities for law enforcement and legal studies majors. We are delighted to bring back our Criminal Justice & Legal Studies programs to the Michigan City campus. This is going to be a great event for community members to learn more about our program offerings,” said Campus Chancellor, Aco Sikoski.
