Ivy Tech Community College Hosts Conversation with Dr.Temple Grandin, Presents Documentary Screening

Ivy Tech Community College has announced renowned author and animal behaviorist, Dr. Temple Grandin will complete virtual visit to the Valparaiso campus for screening of her HBO biopic Temple Grandin and presentation of, Great Minds Are Not All the Same. Event will feature live question & answer session with Dr. Grandin at conclusion of the film screening.

Program is scheduled for Monday, July 17, 2023 from 5pm to 8:30pm CT at the Ivy Tech Valparaiso campus auditorium, located at 3100 Ivy Tech Drive, Valparaiso, IN. Event is free of charge and open to the public. First come first serve.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Dr. Grandin to campus in this virtual visit. She’s an awesome Autism advocate, prominent speaker, gifted author, and animal behaviorist. Her HBO film screening and open Q & A session is a great opportunity for the community to connect with her, learn more about her impact and venture out to campus. This film is really well done and her presentation is sure to fascinate,” said Department Chair, Donald Spears.

Ivy Tech’s Human Services Program is tailored toward students seeking professions in various fields, including but not limited to case managers, mental health technicians, residential facility managers, family support specialists, certified activity directors, social services specialists, community health workers addictions treatment personnel and more. Within the program, students can obtain a variety of credentials, including technical certificates, professional program certifications, two-year work-ready degrees, and also two-year transfer degrees into social work and other related programs.

We are thrilled to host Dr. Grandin and showcase her remarkable efforts alongside our human services programs and degree offerings. There’s a real need in our community for human services majors.
