It’s All Tricks and Treats in the Uptown Arts District For Halloween

Uptown-Arts-DistrictMake Halloween special by shopping local while treating the kids to a fun evening of tricks, treats and downtown Michigan City. On Saturday, October 27th following the Boo at the Zoo, families and friends can visit the Uptown Arts District for a downtown Trick or Treat from 6:30pm to 9:30pm and a special surprise event. The Boo at the Zoo, held at the Washington Park Zoo, starts at 4:30pm which gives friends and family plenty of time to trick or treat at the zoo and then head over to the Uptown Arts District.

Ryan's Irish Pub, 401 Franklin Street, will have a Bank of Horrors Haunted Second Level also sponsored by Mystic Investigations and the Michigan City Zombie Group. The Bank of Horrors runs from 7pm to 11pm, 6pm to 10pm on October 20th and 26th and 6pm to 9pm on October 31st. There is a $3.00 entry fee for the Bank of Horrors. On top of the Uptown Trick or Treat and the very special surprise from 7:30pm to 8:30pm downtown, Ryan's will also be hosting Bed Races between 5th and 4th streets on Franklin. The Bed Races is a free event for all with cash prizes for the fastest bed pushers.

On Sunday, October 28th, Ryan's will host pumpkin painting at 3pm and ghost stories in the basement at 4pm. The ghost stories will be tales of popular LaPorte County hauntings. Finally, on October 31st from 6pm to 9pm, Ryan's will host a Pumpkin Smashing to say goodbye to Halloween with live entertainment and drink specials.
