Resource fair, day of service, panel discussion and more occurring during week of Veterans Day
Indiana University Northwest is hosting several events during Vet Week 2024, which begins on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, 2024.
IU Northwest is proud to assist veteran students, faculty, staff and alumni through its Office of Military and Veteran Services, which is in place to meet the needs of students who are veterans, service members or children and spouses of disabled veterans.
All these events are open to students, faculty, staff and the public.
Flag Raising Ceremony & Veteran Mental Health Discussion
Monday, Nov. 11
Flagpole on Broadway (11:11 a.m.) & Moraine Student Center Lobby (12-1 p.m.)
Students, faculty, staff and the public are encouraged to attend the flag-raising ceremony at the flagpole on Broadway to honor Veterans Day followed by a Veteran Mental Health panel discussion in the Moraine Student Center.
The panel includes:

Veteran Resource Fair
Tuesday, Nov. 12
Savannah Center and Moraine Student Center — 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Come join IU Northwest and several of its community partners at the Veteran Resource Fair. Campus and community members are welcome to attend and learn more about information related to housing, employment, benefits and opportunities to build relationships within the military community.

Veteran’s Volunteer Day of Service
Friday, Nov. 15
Moraine Student Center — 9 a.m. to noon
The Veteran’s Volunteer outreach service invites everyone — students, faculty, staff, and the public — to join and volunteer for 2-3 hours at different sites throughout the community, including:
- Veteran’s Village (Gary)
- Safe Haven (Hobart)
- Operation Charlie Bravo (Crown Point)
- Adam Benjamin VA Outpatient Clinic (Crown Point)
The volunteer event begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Moraine Student Center where volunteers will check in, enjoy coffee and donuts and then head out to the volunteer site of their choosing. Volunteers must sign up by Nov. 14.
