Indiana State Police Master Trooper Dave Eggers retiring after 26 years

dave-eggersMaster Trooper Dave Eggers is a Porter County native. He is a graduate of Portage High School and attended Indiana University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Public Administration.

Eggers was selected for the Indiana State Police Academy and graduated in November, 1988 to become one of Indiana’s Finest.

Upon graduation, Eggers was assigned the Lowell Post where he worked Porter and LaPorte Counties, he then transferred to work in the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) and was assigned to the Indiana Toll Road for eight years. Eggers was then assigned to the Federal Auditing side of CVED for two years before becoming a School Bus Coordinator and assigned back to the Lowell District for the last four years covering seven counties; Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Newton, Jasper, Pulaski and Starke.

Eggers was an Crash Reconstructionist, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Field Training Officer, Tactical Intervention Platoon, CVED Level 1 Certfied, and CVED HazMat Specialist.

Eggers is retiring to take a position as Transportation Director with La Porte Community Schools.

He resides in Porter County with his family.
