You've no doubt seen me reference the fantastic work of the Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) in previous Pipelines, but I think it's important to mention that their services aren't limited to small businesses. The ISBDC is the state's premier business consulting organization, and they offer direct support services to over 95% of businesses across the state as well as start-up ventures. Their core is one-on-one business consulting, which over 3,000 entrepreneurs take advantage of each year.
To put the scope of their services to the state into perspective, they've developed an info graph illustrating their direct contribution to Indiana economic development in 2011. It's worth mentioning the data they report comes directly from clients who affirm that the business growth they experienced over 2011 was at least partly due to the assistance received from the ISBDC. In other words, every dollar, job, and business start reported is directly tied to entrepreneurs in our communities taking advantage of this service.
You can take a closer look at over 100 examples of their successful ventures on the ISBDC Client Stories page. It's an incredible resource for growing Indiana businesses, and yet another reason it's great to be a Hoosier.
