“Indiana is Open for Business”

indiana-sealGovernor Mike Pence joined employees at 80/20 Inc., a t-slotted aluminum components and framing provider. There, the Governor helped to announce the homegrown Hoosier company's plans to expand its headquarters in Indiana and create up to 97 new jobs by 2016.

Pence also visited family-owned Ronaldo Jewelry Design, Inc., in New Albany this week to announce the company's expansion and its plans to create up to 80 new jobs by the end of this year. Since taking office, the Governor has taken part in two ribbon cuttings, accounting for 1,375 projected new jobs, and made six jobs announcements which, combined, equal 1,905 planned jobs for Hoosiers.

"These announcements prove that Indiana really is the best place in America to start a business, grow a business or get a job," said Governor Mike Pence.

Governor, First Lady Attend Education Reform Rocks Rally

Governor Mike Pence joined First Lady Karen Pence, who has been a school teacher for more than 25 years, on stage at the Education Reform Rocks Rally in the Statehouse.

In Sellersburg, Pence Speaks to High School Seniors

Governor Pence spoke to seniors at Silver Creek High School in southern Indiana about their future plans and the importance of servant leadership.

As the Governor stated in his first State of the State Address in January, "When graduation comes, we want to make sure that our schools work for all our kids, regardless of where they want to start in life - whether they are headed for college or want to start a career right out of school."

He remains committed to making career, technical and vocational education a priority again in high schools across Indiana and to making college more accessible and affordable. To this end, SB 532, which would help students responsibly finance college, passed 12-0 out of the House Financial Institutions Committee this week, making it one step closer to the Governor's desk for signature.

Governor Celebrates Irish Heritage in Indianapolis

Governor Mike Pence walked with First Lady Karen Pence in the 33rd Annual Indianapolis St. Patrick's Day Parade presented by the Hoosier Lottery.

Of Irish descent, the Governor is named for his grandfather who worked as a Chicago bus driver after immigrating to Ellis Island in the early 1900s from Ireland.

The Governor was thrilled to celebrate his Irish heritage with fellow Hoosiers and wishes everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day!
