The 2013 BMW X1 is on a road trip with a social media bent from Seattle to New York City in a Facebook campaign that raises funds for national parks, beaches and forests. "X1 Restore the Outdoors" will take a photo at various stops at outdoor places and share it on Facebook.
For every Facebook "Like" the photo receives, BMW will donate one dollar to that location — up to $10,000 for each location.

BMW stopped at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore on Friday, August 31 as one of 12 chosen locations. “We appreciate the work that the Dunes National Park Association did to have Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore included in the BMW of America promotion,” said Costa Dillon, park superintendent. ”This is a great opportunity for people to show their support for the Chicago region’s only national park,” added Dillon.
The trip ends in New York City on September 10 and people can continue to Like the Dunes National Lakeshore photo until then.
