The Michigan City Mainstreet Association is pleased to present the First Friday Artwalk in the Uptown Arts District on October 3, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. The Uptown Arts District is comprised of fine art galleries, retail establishments and restaurants located in the area from 11th Street to the lake and Spring Street to Wabash Street in Michigan City, IN.
The First Friday Artwalk features the latest exhibits at some of the Uptown Arts District’s finest galleries. Galleries and businesses will be open, featuring local artists, and entertainment. Beach Bum jewels will feature artist Leanne Voss who creates beach inspired home decor, trees, tables and terrariums. Darling will host Lisa Filipek, who makes one-of-a-kind chairs and home decor from recycled pieces along with sports fan memorabilia. Award winning artist, Merry Johnson will be at the First United Methodist Church showing in a variety of mediums including sculptures. The Duneland Plein Air painters will display their "field pieces" at Southern Shore Art Association. There will be quilting, photography, an open stage, a movie, beer tasting, and much more.
