Horizon has honored Advisors Bill Denton and Carrie McKibben for the The Robert C. Dabagia Leadership Award and Mark Ritzi and Brad Marley for The Burton B. Ruby Community Service Award.
Bill Denton, Regional President for Central Indiana, and a leader in the Indianapolis banking community for over 30 years has earned the Robert C. Dabagia Leadership Award for his dedication to community. Denton said of the award, “I am very humbled and honored to receive the Robert C. Dabagia Leadership Award. I work for a great company with great leadership.” Denton is deeply committed to the city of Indianapolis. He’s been an ardent supporter of Small Business Saturday on Mass Avenue and was instrumental in establishing Horizon’s Indianapolis headquarters on the corner of Alabama and East New York Street. He also serves on the on the Board of the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation, the Indiana Certified Business Credit Corporation and is a member of the Eitejorg Museum Finance Council.
Carrie McKibben, Senior Vice President, Deposit Operations Manager, was also presented The Robert C. Dabagia Leadership Award because of her dedication to Horizon, co-workers and customers. She is always exploring ways to make things more efficient for the customer and Horizon Bank. McKibben heads up several teams including: Call Center, Deposit Operations, Branch Operations and Treasury Management. “I am honored to be the recipient of the Robert C. Dabagia Leadership Award and am extremely proud to work for a great community bank that employs dedicated Advisors who genuinely care about our customers. Thank you for this prestigious award.” McKibben’s activities outside the bank include: LaPorte County 4-H Fair auction committee member, retired LaPorte County 4-H Leader, Westville High School Scott C Knoll Scholarship treasurer, and Bethany Lutheran Church Council member.
Another inspirational role model for co-workers, family, friends, service organizations and community residents is Mark Ritzi, Market President of Porter County and Mortgage Loan Originator. Ritzi was awarded the Burton B. Ruby Community Service Award for his community activism in Porter County and Valparaiso Indiana. Ritzi has been heavily involved in the Valparaiso community for over 20 years. He is a member of numerous organizations and strives to help wherever he can. Ritzi is involved in the following organizations: Porter Starke Services, Porter County Community Foundation, Valparaiso Schools Foundation Leadership Board, Boys and Girls Club, Valparaiso Rotary Club, and Valparaiso Parks Department. “I am truly honored to receive an award that represents the values I have strived to maintain throughout my career. I love contributing to the community and I love my career that I have at Horizon Bank.”
Brad Marley, Market President for the Greater Lafayette Region, was also presented the Burton B. Ruby Community Service Award for his active volunteerism and his dedication to Horizon and the Lafayette community. He has been a passionate leader in helping the Lafayette community grow and making Horizon Bank become a meaningful part of it. He also encourages his local team to be active within the community. Marley currently serves on the West Lafayette Community School Corporation Board of Trustees, City of West Lafayette-Redevelopment Commission, Greater Lafayette Police Foundation Board, Purdue Fastbreakers, Purdue Gridiron Club, John Purdue Club, West Lafayette Football-Chain Crew, and is a Lafayette Country Club Member.
About The Robert C. Dabagia Leadership Award
This award is presented to a Horizon Advisor who affects positive change for customers, company and community, as exemplified by outstanding leadership, professionalism, collaboration and commitment to customers, and who is an active community volunteer. Mr. Dabagia has provided leadership, guidance and inspiration throughout the years, generously giving of his time and expertise to the Horizon Bank and the community. In honor of his outstanding leadership and service, Horizon's Leadership Award has been named the Robert C. Dabagia Leadership Award.
About The Burton B. Ruby Community Service Award
This award recognizes a Horizon Advisor who has significantly contributed to the communities they serve through active volunteerism, leadership and contributions. Burton “Bud” Ruby, for whom the award is named, had long been recognized for his outstanding activism in local and national concerns, including health care, education and commerce. He had received the human relation’s award by the B’nai B’rith and the State of Indiana’s highest civilian honor, The Sagamore of the Wabash Award.
