Horizon Bank Employee Christina Daulton a Semi-Finalist for ESOP Award

christina-daultonChristina Daulton of Horizon Bank was recently honored as a semi-finalist in the 2015 ESOP Association’s Employee Owner of the Year competition. She received recognition in front of more than 100 ESOP members and other owner employees at the annual awards event.

Having joined the Horizon Bank team in 2000, Daulton has served in multiple roles — first working as a customer service representative, and then moving on to work in the bank’s Trust department. For the past 6 years, she has served as an Employee Benefits Administrative Assistant.

Daulton was nominated by Tracy Woolsey, SVP, an Employee Benefits Trust officer at Horizon. Woolsey said of her nominee, “Christina embodies the bank’s commitment to our clients. She is focused on serving them well, and on helping other team members better serve our clients and our shareholders. She makes suggestions regularly on how we can work more efficiently, and finds ways to make us a better company and team.”

Woolsey noted that beyond her exceptional work at Horizon Bank, Daulton devotes a great deal of personal time volunteering her time to help others. Recently, she was of the top local individual fundraiser for the Relay for Life.

Daulton said, “I was stunned to hear the announcement of my award, while attending the ESOP conference with Tracy. That recognition was completely unexpected, and I was so honored to receive it. It’s very rewarding to work for a team that trusts my abilities, and supports me as an individual.”

Horizon Bank has been a member of the ESOP Association for 25 years. The bank is actively involved in ESOP activities, with Woolsey serving on committees for the national association, and as president of the Indiana chapter. She and another Horizon Bank team member also regularly speak at conferences on behalf of the association.
