La Porte, IN – The Healthcare Foundation of La Porte (HFL) takes great pride in offering both strategic and responsive grants to organizations within La Porte County. Beyond the cycle 1 2020 grants, the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte also awarded 34 Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs), cabinets and signage to 12 organizations. The following organizations were recognized at the ‘Socially Distanced AED Celebration’ in the parking lot event held at the HFL office July 24th:

Evergreen Baptist Church (1 AED)
Grace Baptist Church (2 AEDs)

La Porte Community School Corporation (8 AEDs)
Michigan City Seventh-Day Adventist Church (2 AEDs)
Paladin, Inc. (1 AED)
South Central Community School Corporation (3)
Star Center (Unity Foundation, United Way of La Porte, Healthy Communities of La Porte County, Drug Free Partnership, Meridian Health Services) (1 AED)
Westville Police Department (4 AEDs)
Maria Fruth, CEO of the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte stated, “The Healthcare Foundation of La Porte is focused on the health and wellness of La Porte residents and is excited to gift $71,326 in AEDs, cabinets and signage to these community organizations. AEDs are a vital tool of intervention during sudden cardiac arrest. This is a continuation of AED distribution to local schools, churches and other entities delivering services in our community.”
