Harmony House/CASA Program of La Porte County, Inc. Encourages Interested Individuals to Make a Lifelong Difference for Local Children

Harmony-House-CASACASA volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in an inappropriate group/foster home. Volunteers remain with the child’s case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence – the one adult who cares only for them.

The only requirement necessary to become a CASA volunteer is the desire to make a difference for the future of a child. Training is provided with supervision by CASA staff.

Whatever time you have to devote to a child, it’s more than that child has ever had.

Training to become a CASA Volunteer will be held every Tuesday evening, at Ivy Tech Community College in Michigan City. Classes run from June 4th to July 9th.
