Pennies for Pets is a community service project sponsored by the first grade students at Handley Elementary School in La Porte, Indiana. The first graders take special pride in sponsoring Pennies for Pets, and invite Handley students’ to donate and take pride in supporting our very own La Porte County Small Animal Shelter.
Pennies for Pets takes place in the month of January when we know our furry friends need our love and support the most. Students are encouraged to pay it forward and make a generous donation for just one week.
The teachers at Handley love this project because it teaches the students how just a few pennies can go a long way.
