Healthy-WeightsGrowing Stronger is coming to the La Porte County Purdue Extension Office in La Porte. This 8-week fitness program is fun and FREE. Join us for fellowship, healthy snacks, and the opportunity to practice the exercises with a trained leader. The program begins January 14, 2014 with a required Orientation then will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m., from February 11th to April 17th. The class is approximately 45 to 60 minutes. There will be no class on March 4th and 6th as well as April 1st and 3rd. Must be at least 18 years of age to attend.

This program is based on years of research on how strength training and proper nutrition can improve health. The benefits may include increased strength and flexibility, improved balance and reduced falls, improved weight and glucose control and improved sleep and mood! Each week we will do a series of strength training exercises using just 1 – 5 pound weights. After the exercises we will enjoy fellowship and a healthy snack.
