The Griffith Career Center will focus on the Communities Digital Skills Journey during the month of August.  Visit the Griffith Career Center to enhance your Digital Skills Level from Inclusion to Empowerment.  The staff will assist you in gathering information to acquire a Digital Skills Certificate on various topics and levels.  Additionally, the Center is offering a variety of highlighted workshops, including the opportunity to attend virtual workshops through the “Communications” tab at: http://DigitalSkills.Goodwill-NI.org/  via Griffith Career Center. First Step Act Re-Entry Services

In 2019, thousands of community members began returning home from incarceration under the First Step Act.   Passing the bill was only our first step, our next step is making sure those returning home are Re-entry Ready, by making sure their return is a supported and successful one.  In addition, the staff at the Griffith Career Center is available to assist with Digital Skills, Resumes and Referrals.   More information on First Step to Independence for those returning home can be found at: https://www.firststepact.org/

Grow with Google Digital Skills

  • Every Monday – Friday / 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Familiarity with Google tools that accomplish the tasks of email, word processing and spreadsheets is increasingly not an option, it is becoming a necessity. Come to the Griffith Career Center and learn how our Grow with Google Curriculum can improve your productivity and help you acquire the skills needed for digital and technical success.  We are offering Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Platinum Level Certificates upon demonstrating competency and passing each level.

Northstar Digital Literacy Training

  • Every Monday – Friday / 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

The Griffith Career Center is offering the Northstar Digital Literacy Project Basic Computer Skills Certification.  You will perform various tasks that will be assessed online through self-guided modules. Included are basic computer digital literacy standards and modules in the areas of Basic Computer Use, Internet Basics, Windows and Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint along with Email, Social Media and Information Literacy. These programs offer a credential for employment. There is no cost to complete the online assessments and a Northstar Certificate is awarded upon demonstrating and passing the acquired competency level.
