Videographer & editor position:
GreatNews.Life, publishers of Valpo.Life, Portage.Life, LaPorteCounty.Life, and NW1.Life, is seeking a part-time videographer and editor to join the team at the company's Valparaiso office.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- On-and-off site filming for projects related to clients and/or events
- Speaking with and directing clients on video
- Owning responsibility of filming and conducting interviews
- Assisting in pre-production, production, and post-production as needed
- Editing projects in Premiere, WeVideo, Rush as needed
- Keeping all video files organized and properly titled
- Accepting delegated video tasks and edits
- Managing all video equipment preproduction, production, and post-production
- Managing audio for best results
Additional responsibilities:
- Event coverage on an as-needed basis - including writing articles and taking photos during event coverage
Desired qualifications:
- Energetic, with a self-starter mindset
- Solid understanding of DSLR cameras and a variety of video equipment required
- Must be able to be forward facing (i.e. comfortable talking with clients and instructing them during video shoots)
- The ability to follow directions, think on your feet, and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to take constructive criticism
- Detail-oriented
- Passionate and enthusiastic about his/her work
- Flexibility in a role that is consistently changing, ability to work on occasional nights and weekends
- Degree in video production is preferred, OR projects/training that show a video production understanding
- Knowledge of all Adobe products are a plus
