Grandfather-Granddaughter Team Highlights the Family Atmosphere at La Porte Chrysler

Since its opening in 1973, La Porte Chrysler has prided itself in its family values, and today, grandfather-granddaughter duo Rodney Rosenbaum and Aspen Strong exemplify those family values.

Rosenbaum, who currently works as a salesman, began working at La Porte Chrysler 33 years ago. Throughout his time with La Porte Chrysler, Rosenbaum has witnessed first-hand the company’s positive relationships with its customers extend from generation to generation.

“We have seen the kids of our friends grow up, and now those same kids are buying cars from us today,” said Rosenbaum.

Not only do La Porte Chrysler employees have close relationships with their customers, but they treat each other like family as well. According to Rosenbaum, the staff has “become close, and all of [the employees] care about each other and their families.”

These family-based connections encouraged Rosenbaum to ask his granddaughter, who is currently a senior at La Porte High School, to apply for an office assistant position in August 2016. Strong’s familiarity with the La Porte Chrysler staff, especially her grandfather, convinced her to take the job.

With just seven months at La Porte Chrysler, Strong has already proven that she is an asset to the company. Rosenbaum is able to watch Strong grow as a La Porte Chrysler employee everyday, and he believes that her “energy and passion for helping other people” are what make her such a good fit.

In Strong’s eyes, she would not be where she is today without Rosenbaum. “My grandpa is one of the best people you will ever meet. He reminds me to always be kind. He also inspires me by encouraging my dreams,” said Strong.

One of those dreams is to major in biology at Trine University and prepare for medical school. Although this means Strong will be spending less time at the company, her La Porte Chrysler family will always support her.

If Strong and Rosenbaum had to pick their favorite thing about La Porte Chrysler, they would both say it is the family environment that the company provides to its employees and its customers as well.
