From student to engineer: making a successful transition

From-student-to-engineer-making-a-successful-transitionA computer engineer from Qualcomm CDMA Technologies with 15 years’ experience will share career advice from an insider's viewpoint at the March 29 Purdue University Northwest’s School of Engineering Distinguished Speaker Series.

Samir Ginde, a senior System-on Chip (SoC) performance architect, will recount his journey in engineering from college through his professional career so far. His presentation, “Finding one’s feet in the real world – an engineer’s perspective,” is at 3 p.m. Friday, March 29 at the Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation (CIVS) on the Purdue Northwest Hammond Campus, Room 115 in the Powers Building, 6937 Woodmar Ave. The event is free and open to the public.

Since 2012, Ginde has been a part of a global SoC team responsible for developing industry-leading wireless chipsets that power billions of smartphones and other wireless-enabled devices. An expert in system performance and architecture, Ginde has led teams during the architecture, design and commercialization phases of several of Qualcomm’s recent chipsets.
