The First Friday Night Movie series featuring with Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) has been rescheduled due to weather and another event downtown to August 16th. This free downtown movie is screened in the Herald Argus parking lot at State and Monroe Streets in Downtown La Porte. The free movie, sponsored by the La Porte Urban Enterprise Association and the City of La Porte this month, begins at dusk, around 8:30pm. Families attending will enjoy free popcorn provided by La Porte Savings Bank, and food for sale by B & J’s American Café. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and enjoy a free movie downtown!
This coming Friday, August 9th, Friends Nightclub will be hosting an outdoor music festival at 605 Washington Street from 6pm to 12am. The Friends Fest music festival also runs through Saturday from 12pm to 12am with several bands, food and beer garden throughout the day.
