duneland-chamberThe Visiting Nurse Association is partnering with the Duneland Chamber of Commerce to host a free Sunrise Seminar at Riley’s Railhouse on June 6 to provide information about how they support the community through hospice, home companion care, grief counseling and skilled nursing services.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Porter County will be hosting a free Sunrise Seminar this Thursday, June 6, from 9:00 am – 10:30 am. The event, a partnership with the Duneland Chamber of Commerce, will be held at Riley’s Railhouse, a beautifully restored train depot in the heart of historic downtown Chesterton (123 4th Street). A free breakfast will be provided to all guests. The favor of an RSVP is requested by Wednesday, June 7. Please call the Chamber office at (219) 926.5513 to register.

The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) has been serving Porter County since 1970. Through an impressive array of skilled nursing services provided by both staff and over 400 volunteers, the VNA has supported the residents of our county during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. During the Sunrise Seminar, guests can learn about the compassion and expertise that is available through the VNA Phoenix Center and VNA Hospice, as well as the Telehealth, Lifeline, and Companion Homemaker Care programs.

“Our hospice is provided in the setting that best meets the needs of each patient and his or her family,” says Cathy Fulton, the VNA’s Vice President of Business Development. “We’re committed to meeting families where they are, and walking with them towards where they need to be. While many people know about our hospice program, fewer are aware of our Phoenix Center. We created this space to be able to provide a safe and supportive environment for children ages 6 to 24 and their families in order for them to grieve the death of a loved one. We’re very much looking forward to sharing more information about this newer resource with the community.”
