Franciscan St. Anthony Health to Offer Diabetes Education Classes Later in 2014

rot4Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point will offer a series diabetes courses on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in July, August, and September. The program is recognized and fulfills the standards governed by the American Diabetes Association.

Classes will help provide participants with individual meal plans designed to meet specific needs along with information in accordance with the American Diabetes Association standards.

Sessions will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. There are four sessions for each class. Programs will take place weekly those months in the Burrell classrooms, which are located on the hospital’s lower level.

Individual appointments are also available in case class times aren’t convenient.

Registration and a physician’s referral are required. Program fees are covered by most insurance companies – interested persons should check before calling. Medicare A & B covers a series of classes once and individual appointments yearly, as needed, once classes are completed, for nutrition and medical management.
