franciscan-health-logoFranklin Clinic, a family medicine practice in Michigan City for more than 30 years, will be acquired by Franciscan Physician Network on Dec. 1, 2018, adding an “exceptional” local health care provider to the Franciscan Alliance healthcare ministry.

“Everyone at Franklin Clinic felt that due to our longstanding collaborative relationship with Franciscan Alliance, becoming part of Franciscan Physician Network would give us the ability to continue to serve our patients like we have done over the past three decades,” said Vidya Kora, M.D., and chair of the Northern Indiana Regional Board of Franciscan Alliance.

Current staff and physicians will remain at Franklin Clinic, which specializes in family medicine, internal medicine and pediatric primary care. In January, the practice will add Huma Mulk, M.D., a board certified internal medicine specialist. She will join Kora, Hitendra Patel, M.D.; Jagjeevan Gandra, M.D.; Jeffrey Wiencek, F.N.P. and Anil Chawla, M.D., who also serves as vice president of medical affairs for Franciscan Health Michigan City.

“Physicians and providers from the Franklin Clinic have been providing exceptional medical care to the Michigan City area for many years,” said Dean Mazzoni, president and CEO of Franciscan Health Michigan City. “Convenient, high-quality primary care is essential to the health and wellness of any community. We are very excited to have this talented and dedicated practice join our team,” he added.

Franklin Clinic is located at 3723 Franklin St. in Michigan City.
