Franciscan Health Olympia Fields’ intensive care unit has been accepted into the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s (SCCM) ICU Center of Excellence program.
The hospital was one of only 60 worldwide to be accepted into the program, which empowers ICU teams with the training, education, tools and support needed to enhance patient care and achieve sustained, continuous improvement. Using intuitive dashboards, ICUs can track progress, measure impact and gain valuable insights to drive continuous improvement.
Gold, silver and bronze levels of excellence are presented to participating hospitals based on their achievement of program goals.
“I am extremely excited that Franciscan Health Olympia Fields has officially been accepted into the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s ICU Centers of Excellence program,” said Franciscan Health Olympia Fields Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist Richard Mioni, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP. “This is an excellent opportunity for our ICU team to be recognized for all of our hard work and commitment to evidence-based medicine as well as to continuously improve our ICU care for our patients.”
ICU Centers of Excellence can reduce preventable harms by promoting early mobilization, delirium prevention and ventilator management while supporting operational efficiencies and improved patient outcomes.
