The sorority is a longtime supporter of St. Monica, which, since 1994 has offered a medically sound and emotionally healthy residential environment for women aged 12 to 21 who are awaiting the birth of a child or who recently had a child.

Residents, whose average length of stay is nine months, learn positive relationships and parenting skills under the guidance of experienced resident advisers. Melton said of the donation, “Pi Sigma Phi believes in our mission and the work we do to help young women get back on their feet.” The donation was derived from proceeds from events the sorority sponsors throughout the year.
