Indiana University Northwest women’s basketball head coach Jesse Ford has stepped down from his post to accept the same position at NCAA Division II Purdue Northwest the schools announced Thursday.
Ford has guided the RedHawks for the last three seasons and has led IUN to a 60-31 record highlighted by the 2022-23 campaign. The RedHawks were 24-8 a season ago and received a berth to the NAIA Tournament.
Under his guidance at IUN, Ford’s teams have earned the athletic departments highest GPA for two consecutive seasons. Ford saw Tiara Jackson earn CCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors as a junior, while Jessica Carrothers garnered All-American status, along with CCAC Player of the Year accolades following the 2023-24 season.
Prior to his arrival at IUN, Ford spent four seasons at Fisher College (Mass.) where he guided the Falcons to a pair of A.I.I. tournament berths.
“On behalf of our IU Northwest community, I want to thank Jesse Ford for the past three years of outstanding leadership of our women’s basketball program,” Director of Athletics Ryan Shelton said. “He arrived from Boston in 2021 and immediately guided our program to three consecutive successful seasons and post-season appearances including the NAIA National Tournament. His new opportunity is well deserved, we wish all the best in the future.”
Nicki Monahan-Keith has accepted the position as interim head coach – a national search will be conducted.
