Students were asked to write an essay discussing how they feel this cultural experience will enhance their educational experience. Madison Lindsey shared, “Traveling, in and of itself, will give me a much more advanced perspective of the world. Experiencing different cultures will bring about more of a connectedness in my schoolwork and my life, in general.”

These five students, along with Marquette Catholic’s Principal Jim White and other MQTT students will travel to Costa Rica, in the summer of 2017, when they will visit San José, Arenal Region, Sarapiquí, and Guanacaste. The delegation will hike through rainforests, up volcanoes and visit with locals to learn of their culture.

The scholarship is funded by the Marquette Foreign Exchange Company who partners with Marquette Catholic High School’s international program. The MFEC coordinates MQTT’s study abroad, cultural immersion and global education experiences. The MFEC also provides and manages the boarding program for MQTT’s international students.
