Full Job Description

To support the financial management and operations of the credit union by processing plastic cards and performing ACH operations. Promotes credit union products and services to members that will improve their financial security. Performs maintenance as requested or needed on existing debit cards.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Researches problems or questions for members, clearing houses or correspondents concerning debit cards and share draft transactions. Processes approved debit card applications: orders cards and sets up members' files in computer system: verifies accuracy of cards issued. Researches problems or questions for members concerning debit cards. Demonstrates effective and consistent communication. Answers phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Posts and balances ACH transactions to related reports and accounts. Researches problems or questions for members, clearinghouses or correspondents concerning ACH and payroll transactions. Reconcile general ledger accounts on a daily basis.
  • Processes member payroll deposits. Processes mail and electronic member deposits and loan payments. Verifying check accuracy, which includes confirming it is a negotiable item by following BSA and Reg CC guidelines.
  • Performs Accounts Payable functions, cuts & distributes checks which includes printing and distribution of checks, along with verifying for accuracy and correlation of invoices and verification of scanning.
  • Posts, processes and performs returns on share drafts on a daily basis within the scheduled time allotted. Reconciles general ledger account on a daily basis. Maintains related files and control records.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Bookkeeping: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Excel: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location:

  • One location, Michigan City.

Work Hours Include:

  • Mon-Fri 12-5
