The next First Friday Night Movie is Friday, August 3, 2012. The movie to be screened is the warm-hearted, talking animal classic Babe. The fun starts on State Street with a classic car show at 6pm and the movie should begin at dusk, 8:45-9pm. Babe is sponsored by Parkison and Hinton. Weather permitting; kids are welcome to bring their own Babe or family pet to enjoy the movie. Prizes will be awarded to the most ‘gallant’.
Babe, The Gallant Pig, 1995 is a movie adaptation of the best-selling Dick King novel. Babe is a pig raised by sheep dogs with a gentle soul and a love for adventure. Even with Babe's considerable handicaps as a sheepdog--namely, that he's a pig--he manages to overcome all with his earnestly polite and soft-spoken ways, proving once again that might doesn't always make right.
The First Friday Night Movies take place in the Herald Argus parking lot on Monroe and State Streets. Before the movie, ice cream will be for sale by Temple News Agency, food for purchase by B&J’s American Café and free popcorn served up by LaPorte Savings Bank. Bring your chairs, blankets and family!
