The First Friday Art Walk in the Uptown Arts District of Michigan City, IN will be serving as the launch of the holiday season and the Winter Wonderland activities that whole month long. The Art Walk begins at 5pm on December 6th and includes several businesses hosting art, refreshments, holiday items and entertainment.
New for 2013, Santa will be escorted into the downtown area at 5pm by the Michigan City Police and will remain in his Santa House for free visits for the remainder of the evening. There will also be a free art shuttle and horse-drawn wagon rides to accompany the evening until 8pm.
The Saturday following the Art Walk, December 7th, also features family fun. From 12pm to 2pm in Uptown Santa will be available for visits in his new Chalet, as well as free horse drawn wagon rides provided by Horizon Bank. From 2pm to 5pm, don’t forget to enjoy the Uptown Christmas Bazaar in Barker Hall featuring artisans and high-end crafts for all to enjoy. The bazaar is $2.00 to enter and includes a raffle ticket for items donated by each vendor.
