Field Trip, Group Outing Opportunities Available during “A Christmas Story” Exhibit

Leg-Lamp-A-Christmas-StoryDuring the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority’s annual holiday exhibit, “A Christmas Story” Comes Home, adults and children can enjoy numerous activities during a planned field trip or group outing.

The exhibit, which is presented in agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, features six animatronic window displays depicting scenes from the holiday classic “A Christmas Story.” Additionally, a bronze statue of Flick, whose tongue is permanently “stuck” to a flagpole, can be viewed outside of the Indiana Welcome Center.

School field trip and group tour planners can create personalized outings to include craft projects, cookie decorating, playing games of FLICK bingo, watching the holiday film “A Christmas Story,” and submitting entries in the “Write A Theme Contest: What I Want for Christmas.”

The “A Christmas Story” Comes Homes exhibit will be on display from Nov. 8 to Jan. 4, 2015, in the W.F. Wellman Exhibit Hall at the Indiana Welcome Center. The Indiana Welcome Center is located at the intersection of I-80/94 and Kennedy Avenue South in Hammond; only 30 minutes from downtown Chicago and two hours north of Indianapolis.
