Downtown La Porte Flooded with Ghouls and Goblins for 2015 Spooktacular

Goblins, ghouls, superheroes, and princesses alike took over Downtown La Porte with an epic quest to receive all the candy possible. Businesses opened their doors and candy bags to children who were on this quest. It was a great day for the community to bring the youth together, and for families to get to know their community businesses.

It is a way to get the community and business to kick off the Halloween festivities before the city-wide trick-or-treat on Halloween.

“I think the coolest part is that it gives kids two chances to dress up and get candy,” Thaddeus Cutler, Coordinator for Downtown La Porte.

Lincoln Avenue was flooded with families. Lines were packed full of costumed children anxiously waiting for their candy. Some of the business participating were Mucho Mas, Thaddeus Gallery, Magic Sports, Temple News Agency and many more. Some businesses were not completely prepared for the amount of children that showed up to take part in the fun. The beautiful weather helped draw families in.

“A nice thing about the Spooktacular is that it is earlier in the month,” Thaddeus Cutler began. “I mean it is a perfect day out!”

All along the sidewalks of Lincolnway, kids flooded the path to get candy. Smiles lit the skies and giggles muffled the sounds of cars passing by. It was a day where happiness roamed free, and a day where anybody can be a superhero, a princess, or something born from the limitless imagination.

The Downtown La Porte Spooktacular was a special day for families and friends. The community of La Porte is a place like no other, a place that is cherished behind smiles of all who experience it.
