The Crown Point Bulldogs (8-1, 3-1) continued their dominant season as they hosted the Slicers (3-12, 0-4) in a conference game tonight at Crown Point High School. 

The Bulldogs, under the direction of Coach Clint Swan, have posted some very impressive numbers so far this season. Not only is the team undefeated on their home court as well as in neutral territory, they are also a whirlwind force in away games with a 3-1 record on the road.

The ‘Dogs posted up some strong defensive play in tonight’s game against the visiting Slicers, with Crown Point leading by an average of 30 points throughout most of the game and finishing with a final score of 67-43. The game was propelled by an outstanding second quarter performance, headlined by #12 Ty Smith. Smith, the 6’2”, 173-pound senior guard posted an explosive 14 points in that period, with an impressive string of three-point field goals, and finished with a game-high 21 points.

The Slicers struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, managing just four points in the first quarter and adding only five more by halftime. They seemed to find themselves a bit more by the fourth quarter, adding another 22 points to their tally for the game. Standout players for La Porte in the game tonight were #22 RJ Anglin, 6’2” sophomore guard, #24 Kyle Kirkham, 6’3” sophomore guard, and #44 Grant Ott-Large, 6’3” junior forward. 

The Bulldogs will pack-up and board their bus for a conference game against the Portage Indians (4-11, 0-4) next Thursday, February 4. La Porte will roll out the red carpet to host the Concord Minutemen from Elkhart (5-6, 3-1) for a non-conference game on Friday, January 30.
