Community Healthcare System Offers Free and Low Cost Classes and Events to Help the NWI Community

comhs-eventCommunity Healthcare System knows how important it is to share the health and with the community. Some very unique things that they offer at multiple hospitals and locations are free and low cost public health programs.

This way, people from all walks of life can get the assistance they need to live a healthy and happy life. Community members can take part in free health screenings, free demonstrations, classes, health fairs, and special events.

New moms can get all the help and instruction that they need with Community Healthcare System’s Baby Classes. Childbirth preparation, lactation clinics, breastfeeding classes, sibling and grandparent classes, and birthing center tours are just some of the resources available to moms and their families. Lots of free screening are offered at Community Hospital, St. Mary Medical Center, and St. Catherine Hospital as well as surrounding partner entities. Blood profiles, memory screenings, diabetes testing, coronary health appraisals, bone density screenings, and more are at the ready for the convenience and the health of citizens. Community Healthcare System believes that it is important to let everyone know that we are not alone in our struggles, ever. This is why there are numerous support groups offered at different locations within Community Healthcare System’s locations. Caregivers support groups, Alzheimer’s support groups, Parkinson’s support groups, breast cancer support groups, wellness and weight loss support groups, and so many more are open to any and all who need a helping hand, an ear to bend, a shoulder to cry on, or an entire group to lean on.
