La Porte sees infinite possibilities for growth with newest development project

The City of La Porte has been on quite a run recently with a string of community projects, all aimed at generating positive financial growth for the area as well as providing a healthy, sustainable standard of living for everyone who lives and works in the area. Fresh on the heels of their last project comes the announcement of the city’s most recent project, the next phase of a multi-million dollar development site along East Shore Parkway. Once completed, the site will feature 12 office units, as well as 14 townhomes and 35 paired ranch homes.

The project is being developed by Infinite Development, a company owned by Jerry Fedorchak in conjunction with Jim Magnuson. Fedorchak, who also serves as President of GM Fedorchak and Associates, an architecture and retail development firm, says that the first phase is nearing completion and is already 100% leased.

“Our plan is to build a multiphase office complex business park,” Fedorchak said. “This next phase will be roughly 8000 square feet, and will be situated along East Shore Court to McClung Road and adjacent to Fish Trap Lake.”

Leasable spaces will be available from 1,000 to 8,000 square feet in the upcoming development.

“Ultimately, there will be 26,000 sq ft of high-end office space here,” Fedorchak said. “This is a testament to what a private/public partnership should be. La Porte is very pro-growth, very pro-business and a pleasure to work with.”

Mayor Tom Dermody is proud of the progress he’s seeing in the city.

“It seems like we’re having a ground breaking every week somewhere in the city, and this is another opportunity for professional business suites,” said Mayor Dermody. “This is part of what makes La Porte special.”

“It’s exciting to see local developers like Mr. Fedorchak and Mr. Ferguson doing positive work here in the city. It’s always great when local people believe in where a city is headed and want to be part of that growth.”

Mayor Dermody sent a special shout-out to Bert Cook and the La Porte Economic Advancement Partnership, for their tireless work in helping to grow La Porte.

“Over the last year and a half, we’ve seen a lot of tremendous progress. La Porte is a city on the move.”

Tom Casey, City Planner for La Porte, said this development will eventually tie nearby area features such as the Chessie Trail to local green spaces and even the downtown area of the city.

“It’s all part of the ‘Heart of La Porte’ plan, which will create a hub of activity, networking business and retail development, residential housing, and incorporating natural assets such as parks and lakes to build a city that offers a higher standard of living to local residents,” Casey said.

Bert Cook, Executive Director of LEAP, sees this as a valuable addition to existing development on the north end of the city.

“It’s such a treat to work with great, local developers,” Cook said. “We were very happy to be able to put a deal together with Infinity Development. This will add tremendous value to the community. We see this as a major growth area for the city.”
