The City of La Porte Fire Department is now accepting firefighter applications, according to Chief Andy Snyder.
“Our firefighter applications open up every two years, and we are excited this year to once again be expanding our team,” Snyder said. “We look forward to meeting with new applicants and finding the next round of firefighters who will serve and protect our community.”
Snyder said applicants must have a high school diploma and adequate means of transportation, and must pass a preliminary physical fitness examination. Applicants will also be required to take a mental aptitude test for placement on the eligibility list.
