“As 2013 came to an end, Tiffany Bley who served as Downtown Coordinator for the last two years informed us of her intention to leave the position for a new role in Northwest Indiana. At that point it became essential for us to identify a new candidate to continue the forward momentum created in our Downtown. We had a wealth of qualified candidates apply for the job, but it was clear to us early on that Thaddeus possessed the ideal qualities to step into this role,” said Mike Seitz President of the Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce.
“When the city recognized the need for the position of a Downtown Coordinator for La Porte, I was optimistic. Tiffany Bley was instrumental in organizing the separate events existing in downtown as well as contributing her own unique ideas", said Thaddeus.
Thaddeus will begin working in his new role on March 3 and much excitement exists as he takes on the task of continued redevelopment downtown."Given the opportunity to be the newly appointed Downtown Coordinator, I am motivated and enthusiastic about the forward momentum that we have all started. As a business owner and resident of La Porte, I envision an even greater future for the diverse and amazing businesses that are here", commented Thaddeus.
The Downtown Coordinator position is housed within the Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce and represents a partnership of the Chamber, City of La Porte, Urban Enterprise Association, Convention and Visitors Bureau and GLEDC.These entities all contribute to the funding of the position and the Downtown Coordinator represents each entity and furthers their particular goals in La Porte.
