Cheryl Lutey Named Chief Human Resources Officer for City of Valparaiso

Cheryl Lutey has been named Chief Human Resources Officer for the City of Valparaiso, announced Mayor Matt Murphy. Lutey brings over 39 years of human resource management experience, most recently as a regional human resource director. Lutey has also earned certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Senior Certified Professional with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP). She is a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington with a degree in Public Administration. She and her husband, Brian, live in Portage.

Her background and expertise will enhance our continued goal of providing the best for our workforce and community,” said Mayor Matt Murphy. “It’s a privilege to serve a team of employees who are so diverse, dedicated, and engaged.” Lutey’s new office will be at Valparaiso City Hall.
