Challenger Learning Center Plans November Second Saturday Event

The Challenger Learning Center of Northwest Indiana will be hosting its Second Saturday Family Science Program on Saturday, Nov. 9 beginning at 2:00 p.m. The event’s cost is $10 per person or $35 per family of four and will include Hands-on Family Science, a laser light show and a planetarium show.

The Hands-on Family Science portion invites families to learn about flying basics followed by aeronautical challenges.

The laser light show will be Laser Vinyl Show and will feature laser art set to classic rocks songs by artists such as Aerosmith, AC-DC, Queen and more.

The November planetarium show will be Flight Adventures and South Shore Skies. Attendees will learn about famous inventors and aviators of the past and the pioneers who first revealed the four forces of flight. South Shore Skies provides attendees with easy-to-use stargazing tips to find points of interest in the skies over southern Lake Michigan.

Those not wishing to participate in the Hands-on Family Science package may purchase tickets to either the laser show or planetarium show at $5 for adults and $3 for children. A special package including both shows is $8 for adults and $5 for children.

Individual planetarium shows begin at 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Individual laser shows begin at 3:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.

The Challenger Learning Center will also be offering a U2 and Pizza laser show event on Friday, Nov. 15 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Attendees will enjoy pizza and soft drinks and then sit back for a 50-minute laser show compilation of U2 songs. Cost is $10 per person.
