Centier Bank Wins Lending Awards from U.S. Small Business Administration’s Indiana District Office

Centier Bank was recently presented two awards by the United States Small Business Administration’s Indiana District Office for its lending performance in 2022.

A group of Centier Bank business bankers gathered at the bank’s Corporate Centre in Merrillville to accept the Community Lender Award (Silver) and Third Party Lender Award from Peter Smith and Sharon Harvey from the Indiana District Office of the SBA.

The Indiana District Office of the SBA provides help with SBA services including connecting business owners and entrepreneurs to our partner organizations, lenders, and other community groups that help small businesses succeed.

In 2022, the SBA helped Indiana entrepreneurs access of $925 million through the traditional 7(a) and 504 loan programs—an increase of $15 million year over year, and the 504 loan volume experienced a 32% increase year over year.

“We couldn’t have achieved these record numbers without the hard work and dedication to small business growth from our SBA lending partners like Centier Bank,” explained Stacey Poynter, SBA’s Indiana District Director. “We are grateful for their support and look forward to the continued growth of this collaborative partnership.”

Jerry Tomasic, Business Banking Group Manager, said he was proud that Centier Bank was recognized for its achievements in community lending.

“As a community bank, Centier prides itself on being a true partner to our business clients,” Tomasic said. “We’re a group who is passionate about helping our clients set up their business for sustainable success for an even better tomorrow.”
