Centier Bank associates recently volunteered at a home build for Habitat for Humanity of Porter County and presented a $5,000 community donation to the organization. The home, which is scheduled to be complete this month will house a family of three.
Anthony Contrucci, Vice President of Community Relations at Centier Bank, was one of six Centier volunteers who spent the day on site painting the home’s interior and participating in other construction tasks.
“Habitat for Humanity is an outstanding community organization because it not only brings the community together to build homes for those in need, but it brings the community together to help build the community itself,” Contrucci explained. “Associates from our Community Relations Department immensely enjoyed working on the home alongside the family who will be inhabiting it soon. It’s a great feeling to contribute to helping someone’s dream come true.”
Jonah Besch, Board President of Habitat for Humanity of Porter County said the organization has had a longstanding relationship with Centier Bank. He said the monetary donation will help pay for materials, HVAC, and other professional services required for finishing the home’s construction.
“For many years, Centier has provided 100 percent of the servicing, documentation, and origination of loans for our local affiliate. Our Treasurer for the past 20 years or so has always been a Centier associate. When we say we appreciate the partnership with Centier Bank, this is a massive understatement--as Habitat for Humanity in Porter County may not be in existence without the constant and faithful partnership with Centier Bank,” Besch said. “When organizations such as Centier contribute not only financially, but labor hours as well it contributes to the sense of community in Porter County.”
