January 19, 2022- Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the 219 Day Committee invite all Region residents over 21 years of age to join us for the fun, weird, and wacky event that celebrates everything Region—219 Day. 219 Day returns to the Hammond Civic Center on Saturday, February 19th from 6:00 to 11:00 pm. There will be classic arcade video games, temporary tattoos, the popular selfie booth, a piñata, and more! Admission is free.
This year’s live entertainment features Tommy DeCarlo, singer of the band Boston, in concert with Rudy Cardenas of American Idol playing the classic hits of Boston & Journey. Various Region craft and domestic beers will be available for your enjoyment. New this year, Manic Meadery will be serving the Region’s favorite meads. Food vendors exclusive to the Region will be on hand as well.
T-shirts for the event will be available for purchase at 219day.com. T-shirts will also be available for purchase at the event while supplies last.
When you get there, be sure to sign our “You Know You’re From ‘da Region If…..” boards posted around the Civic Center. For those who need a ride, a free shuttle bus will be traveling back and forth to the Hammond South Shore Line train station. Visit mysouthshoreline.com for the current train schedule.
Corporate sponsorships are still available.
