Boston’s Premiere Bring Your Child to Work Day is Blockbuster Hit

boston-middle-school-signWhen Bryan Blaschke and Holly Welsh first started talking about hosting Boston’s first Bring Your Child to Work day they began to reminisce about those they remembered from the past. Bryan had participated at a prior school and recalled how much his children loved being a part of the action. Holly recalled her days visiting her dad’s work with vivid memories of the fun they had. So, it was decided, they had to get this thing off the ground.

Their reasons were many but the two that lead their way were simple, let the children see the hard work their mom’s and dad’s put in as Boston associates and let the students see the Boston staff as parents. The day began with a welcome breakfast and the kids proudly boasted their official lanyards and activity packets. The children then joined their parents for a day of job shadowing with crafts and a fun scavenger hunt along the way. Students were even able to meet Boston’s therapy dog and compete in an Abe Lincoln lookalike contest. The staff was incredibly supportive many contributing snacks and handing out goodies to the kids as they took a tour of the school.

It was a great day and seeing the students interact and enjoy the children was by far the greatest reward. The staff can’t wait to participate next year and enjoy another day with their children at work.
