Boston Middle School Sixth Graders View Author Webcast

Boston-Middle-School-Rick-Riordan-WebcastSixth grade students at Boston Middle School watched a Live Webcast by Rick Riordan this week. He is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, the Kane Chronicles, and the Heroes of Olympus. The Webcast took place at the Empire State Building.

After giving a brief history lesson on the construction of the Empire State Building, Rick Riordan answered some challenging questions about Greek Mythology from his readers. If he was stumped, he gave them a free set of his books. Rick was stumped twice. He shared information about his new downloadable app called the Demi Gods of Olympus. Students can use their unique demigod skills in the interactive way by choosing their own adventure! Finally, Riordan read a sneak peek of Book #5 Book of Olympus.

The book will be released on October 7th. After the webcast, an online survey was given to students about Rick Riordan’s books. The most popular book read by sixth graders was the Lightening Thief.
