Boston Middle School Family Movie Night Helps 16 Families

2015-boston-msEvery year, Boston Middle School gives back to the community during the holidays by helping the Salvation Army provide a Christmas to families in need. This year, Boston volunteered to adopt sixteen families for the holiday season-48 children total! The Salvation Army would like each family to receive some food and at least one present for each child. Boston always tries to go above that requirement. To meet this goal, Boston had a family movie night to help raise money for these families.

The Family Movie Night was on Friday December 4th from 5:30-6:30. Before the movie, pizza, drinks, and snacks were sold. Many local businesses helped by donating supplies. Subway donated a platter of sandwiches, Christo’s donated a tray of brownies, Kroger donated a $10 giftcard to help by treats, and LaPorte Savings Bank donated napkins. At 6pm, Toy Story was shown in the auditorium and on the cafeteria televisions. Students and families had a great time coloring Toy Story images, eating snacks, and watching the movie! Over $500 was raised for the Angel Tree Families. It was a great event that brought our Boston family together to help La Porte County families in need. Thank you to all who attended and helped with the event!
