Boston Middle School Academic Team Competes in Indiana Academic Super Bowl Junior Division

boston-middle-school-academic-team-2015On Saturday, May 2nd, the 8th grade Social Studies Academic Super Bowl Team competed at LaPorte High School against various schools in Northern Indiana in the Indiana Academic Super Bowl Junior Division. The team consisted of Chloe Cloutier, Rebecca Eyrick, Zachary Eason, Shelby Riehle and Delaney Bluhm. These students studied competition material throughout the winter months, meeting weekly for brief quizzes and presentations. The subject was “The Grandeur That Was Rome”, and focused on the daily life of Roman citizens, how various influential leaders impacted their culture, and Roman government functions.

At the Academic Super Bowl competition, the team placed first in Class I, and was awarded sixth place amongst the state scores, with a score of 21 out of 25 questions. The students applied their knowledge to achieve an outstanding goal, and represented Boston Middle School as one of the most successful schools in the state.
