The Boston 8th grade football team defeated North Judson 20 to 14 at Kiwanis Field Wednesday night. The offensive attack was run behind the offensive line of Cesar Rosales, Austin Lowe, Braiden Arnett, Jake Garwood, and Alex Kulbacki.
Offensively, Mark Haines scored the first touchdown of the season on a 20 yard touchdown pass reception from quarterback Nolan Lorenz, who also had an 11 yard touchdown run at the end the 1st half with no time left on the clock. Justin Dusza added a 2-point conversion reception from Lorenz to end the 1st half scoring. Blake Cornett added a 60 yard touchdown reception from Lorenz early in the 4th quarter.
Defensively, Carter Bernth had 7 tackles. Justin Dusza and Edgar Villa added 4 tackles apiece. Nolan Lorenz had 2 sacks, and Austin Lowe and Cesar Rosales each had a sack. Rosales had 3 tackles. Mark Haines also had 2 sacks. Blake Cornett preserved the victory with a 4th down batted pass late in the 4th quarter.
Boston plays Portage Willowcreek next week Thursday at Portage.
